As far as paying to list your biker friendly business is concerned I don’t think that will ever change, I may in the future introduce a small charge to have your business featured but I think the mechanics of this site don’t lend themselves to that way of advertising. Having a map that gets your location and then shows you businesses local to you is in my opinion, a better option for the biker community, we may be missing a real gem just because they don’t want to pay for advertising.I’m a Google specialist so I’ll be using those skills to earn money through advertising on the site.
So how does it pay for itself? I’m a Google specialist so I’ll be using those skills to earn money through advertising on the site. The revenue is dependent on the amount of traffic that passes through the site and the number of people that follow an advert that they’ve seen on the site. As it stands we should be on track to cover the costs of hosting the site and as I’m working on this for nothing then I’d be classing that as breaking even.
How can you help? If you’re already listed then you could share the site on your Facebook page, add a link to your listing or the main site on your website, tell other biker friendly businesses about the site, ask your customers to leave feedback on the site or anything else you can think of to get people to visit the site. If you’re not already listed then send me a link through the contact page or our Facebook page and I’ll add you to the site.
What’s next? I’m working on adding events to the site and then I’ll be making a start on allowing business owners to claim their listings so they can add to and edit themselves.
